Iceland for christmas

Sorry i have been quiet on the run up to christmas but i have been a busy boy.

I decided 2010 was the year to book a trip to Iceland and what an amazing place it is.

I managed to take over 400 photos and took numerous videos of the amazing surroundings. I can truly say i have never seen anything like it. I even managed to see the Northern Lights.

I posted a small selection of pictures to my facebook account:

Tilt Shift Photography Part 2

Here are some of my own little efforts at tilt shift photography. Have a look at my old post about this here if you haven't got a clue what i'm on about,
http://dutton-design.blogspot.com/2010/10/tilt-shift-photography.html

You really do have to start of with a good quality image with exactly the right angle and enough objects in it to really give the effect of a miniature world. I am particularly happy with the train and am really impressed how the surround grass and shrubbery comes out looking like a model with very little effort in photoshop.

Keep checking back for more, Andy

10km Heaton Park

Just a quick one to to show an embarassing piccie of me running the Heaton Park 10km last weekend and to say thanks to everyone who sponsored me, all the proceeds will be going to the Bobby Moore Bowel Cancer Research Trust.

I managed to get around in 58 mins, which is 6 minutes slower than my last 10km but was in horrible weather conditions and was a much tougher course, more like a cross country event running in water, grass and gravel. Already looking forward to the Manchester 10km next May now.

Just working on a little brief at the moment for a friend of mine to create a remote control interface/application for his iPad,
He needs a series of icons, logos and animations producing along with a background theme that is all applied to a program that codes it all and creates an app that will control his TV, Playstation 3, Blu Ray, Stereo and even his curtains, Rock n Roll.

Pictures of app fully up and running coming soon.

Klassic Rides - Hemicat

I finished the Hemicat project over the weekend and the guys in the states love the renderings and work on the vehicle has already begun. Look out for magazine and TV exposure any of which i will post on here.

The final design features an original 1949 MKIV Jaguar Saloon of which there a very few left in this condition. The chassis is being replaced with a modern Chrysler 300c and Hemi 4.4 V8 running gear producing around 500bhp. With just some subtle tweaks on the exterior to accommodate the new chassis this really is a classic sleeper.

Keep checking back for updates on the build.

Land Rover FC101

Another Freelance project i am working on at the moment is on a Land Rover FC101 that is being converted into a self sustainable camper that is going to tour europe for months at a time. The guy found me through my major project i completed at uni: Domus Mobile Compact Home on the tiny house blog, (link below if you want to read about that to)

http://tinyhouseblog.com/pre-fab/domus-compact-home/

We are just fleshing out some rough sketches at the moment which i will upload once completed. Its really good to be using some of the finding of my dissertation on a real vehicle with real constraints.

Klassic Rides

Quick update on the Klassic Rides job, working up some front end designs at the moment and getting close to the finished article.Full front and rear 3/4 renderings coming soon plus my own version if it was my project car.

The car has been designed to closely resemble the 1949 Jaguar MkIV with some modern twists. The Car features a Chysler 300c chassis and running gear so the body has had to be tweaked to accommodate this. wider arches, uprated wheel and tyre package, lower ride height etc.

Keep checking back regularly to see updated images.

Thanks.
